Recommended without hesitation by Ross and Eric

Ross with his Eland

After being the successful bidder on the Umdende Hunting Safaris donation hunt at our local SCI chapter I elected to take my oldest son Eric on his first African safari.

Eric with his Blesbuck

To say that it was a success would be an understatement as he cleanly harvested 7 animals after months of practicing and preparation.

Eric with his Kudu
Everything was first rate from airport pickup to drop off. Camps were impeccable, food was superb and the quality of Clayton's work as a PH were excellent (with a good word also for Johan who assisted at the end of our hunt as well as to Garth who assisted with Eric's Kudu hunt).

Superb experience by John Williams

John(right) and his son Jonathan Williams

Sean , Many thanks, I have shot all my life pheasants, partridge, duck, geese and woodpigeon but our trip was by far the best shooting experience I have ever had.
John with his Kudu

Coupled with the professionalism of Churchill’s and your organisational skills it was a superb experience.

John with his Blesbuck

The PH's were impressive and Garth and I got on well and we certainly made a good team with the indomitable Moses who can spot a spot of blood from 50yds.

I enjoyed using my Winchester 30/30 which apart from the occasional mechanical hiccup was true and amazingly I never missed with it.

I recorded 7 kills with single shots some with the Winchester. Keep in touch and let's do it again.

African Tradition By Sheila and Peder Lund

View from one of the blinds

After bird shooting several times over the last 20 years with Clayton’s father, Trevor, we looked forward to more of the same with Umdende – and we were not disappointed.
Shelia and Trevor having a chuckle before the shoot

We brought along English friends who had not experienced bird shooting in Africa before and they were very impressed and very, very happy.

John, Graham, Josie,Aidan and Richard with their Guinea fowl

We stayed all week at the Lodge, and Clayton and Garth presented us with a wide range of feathered game – duck, francolin, dove, guinea fowl (wild and driven!), geese – and all well within an hour’s drive from base.

As before, the food and hospitality were first rate and the conversation around the fire pit was always stimulating.

We hope we can carry on another African tradition with Clayton and all the Umdende family.

Outstanding week by Richard Ruttle

View from one of the Goose blinds

Clayton and Debbie, our group enjoyed an outstanding week with you. It is very rare in life that you look forward to an experience for months and that it even exceeds your expectations.
Adian, Graham, Richard and Josie with the days Ducks

The bird hunting was absolutely world class including early morning Goose flighting in frost, very tricky dove shooting, exceptional ducks in 3 beautiful locations and decoyed pigeons. The spectacle of driven Guineafowl and francolin shooting is an awesome experience.

I successfully stalked a Springbok with Garth and as an experienced Red deer stalker this was a very memorable experience.

Most importantly the hard work and care that you took to deliver an amazing experience was extraordinary. No detail was missed. The food Tenneil cooked was as good as I have eaten in any restaurant anywhere and the nights around the brazier swapping stories were absorbing and fun.

Garth was superb on our stalk, very expert, great company and happy to be asked a lot of questions and to share his expertise and experience. Producing a wild bush pig picnic afterwards amidst stunning scenery was a real and unexpected bonus!.The barbecue at Garth and Tenneil,s house after the Guineafowl drives was another highlight.
A very windy day for a Picnic

You are an exceptional team who really understand how to deliver an outstanding holiday. It is obvious you love your work and we thank you for a fantastic week. I look forward to doing it again!
Thanks

Just a quick note to say thank you to all of you for providing such a fantastic holiday. I really enjoyed the varied shooting and the food was excellent.

Josie liked the food and the scenery, but I don't think she was very impressed by my shooting. Heigh Ho!
Any problems we had we brought with us!

Despite that you provided a very relaxed atmosphere, many thanks.

Your hospitality was above and beyond the call of duty. You really made everything so special. We were also happy to meet Trevor and Colette. When I make the chili pepper preserves I will recall very fond memories.

Robert with his Zebra
Bob of course realized a lifetime dream of hunting in Africa. The birds were incredible and we both look forward to the trophies from the bush. It was a very successful hunt in so many ways.

Dear Clayton, Debbie and the whole UMDENDE team,
Fuad and his friends after a duck shoot
A good day Pigeon shooting

From the “dark continent”, we are back to the “stormy desert”!

It was a great experience for each one of us to make safaris with UMDENDE. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the excellent and outstanding support extended, thank you so much!

This was our first hunting in South Africa. Each one of us really enjoyed and would like to come back at the earliest.

The most memorable thing is the treatment from all of you. Everything was well organized and taken care of.
A good afternoon for Dove shooting

We wish all success to UMDENDE Safaris, we will continue to be in touch with you.
